Environment

We take our environment seriously and wish to preserve it for the benefit of our grandchildren and future generations. We are progressively moving towards creating a more sustainable way of life and assist other organisations in their efforts to better the Kapiti Coast environment.

In early 2010 we were awarded the Qualmark Green “Enviro Gold Award” (authenticated in Scotland) which recognises our effort in the fields of energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, community activities and conservation initiatives.

Nga Uruoura – Kapiti Project

kapiti project

"The Nga Uruoura – Kapiti Project" is a non-profit organisation dedicated to restoring a continuous ribbon of native forest along the Kapiti coast and across both private and public land to create a bird-safe habitat where native birds can breed successfully. This will eventually bring back the magnificent dawn chorus, once could be heard along the entire length of the west coast of New Zealand in pre-European times. Brian and Glenys are members of this organisation and invite guests to help.
